About Moab Utah

History

1950s

Moab became a town December 20th, 1902. In the 1950’s, Moab became the “Uranium Capital of the World” which made the population grow by 500% bringing the population close to 6,000 people. Moab eventually became less popular to live in because the mining decreased as the years went on. By the 1970’s interest came back to the town for the reasons people visit it today!

Current Day

2020s

Moab is now popularized by the beautiful images seen in magazines and movies. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Bad Boys II, The Lone Ranger and other movies have scenes filmed in this town. National Geographic and Backpacker are magazines that also feature this beautiful town that helped attract people like me to see it for myself.
